The Karez is a water conservancy system in the arid regions of Xinjiang, consisting of underground channels connecting Wells. The system collects a large amount of rain and meltwater of snow that seeps into the ground in spring and summer and leads it to the ground through the natural slope of the mountain. The water (brought to the ground) is used to irrigate farms and meet people&39;s daily water needs. The Karez reduces evaporation of water at the surface, does little damage to the surface, and thus effectively protects the natural resources and ecological environment.
